“THE RED SPIRIT”

Since Gerald Verollet arrived in Vietnam, almost two year ago, he decided to start a long journey across the rainbow by
visiting each main colour during a period of three years. The journey starts with “The Red Spirit” that will remain the symbol
of his presence in Vietnam. All the paintings exhibited today have been created with the spirit of red.

Working with red as the main colour could be seen as a limitation by some but for the artist it is more a way to familiarize
with the spirit of the colour and feel the energy level. It is an invitation to feel the energy through a variety of acrylic
paintings on canvas using different techniques.

7 is the magic number of creativity. The Red Spirit is part of the 7 colours Spirit that he will be visiting in the coming years
ending with White, the symbol of purity and perfection. All paintings are square shaped, culminating in “7 Spirit”, a perfect
magic square ready to be discovered. Many sculptures also illustrate the move from 2D to 3D vision. As every nice sculpture
begins with a good drawing, some drawings are exhibited to illustrate the red spirit, the colour of our Passion.

“If you react positively to something you see that is probably due to harmony between who you are and what you see”.

About the artist…

Gerald Verollet, originally from France, currently live in Hanoi. His numerous trips around the world emphasize his interest in
the fields of painting, sculpture, design and architecture. He is originally a biologist and utilizes a rigorous scientific approach
through his multiple works of art.
