From Dave Hogue:
The attached charcoal portrait was done by a Vietnamese artist in a coastal village near ChuLai,Vietnamaround 1964-1966. I purchased this from the artist in March, 1966. The portrait is purported to be of an elder Vietnamese farmer/fisherman whose age is in excess of 100 years old. I do not have the artist name or even if he is still living today. The artist’s age in 1966 was approximately 35 years old and he lived with his wife and children in a small fishing village where he also maintained a store to sell food and drinks. If he and his family survived the dangers of that time, I am sure he is a notable artist today.
