Come to Vietnamese artist Hoang Duong Cam’s first solo exhibition in Singapore. Despite his continuing devotion to the personal, direct field of painting , Hoang’s multidisciplinary practice dances nimbly around the traditional genre classifications, frequently incorporating such techniques and disciplines as painting, performance art, and photography. Far from being genre-bending for its own sake, Hoang’s approach highlights the role of conceptual development in the process of art-making, which in turn reflect art’s role in questioning and reassessing the societies, cultures, perspectives and histories in which we live.
