Opportunity: Open Call for Artists

From the recruiter (artist):

Get paid wages of a full time job, but only work part time hours. Work from home.

Assist in Painting Projects, reproducing contemporary paintings from originals provided. (Please note, the kind of work that I’m looking for are quality, carefully and slowly painted artwork, not the quickly painted copies of Old Masters for tourists.)

Graduate Art Student or Experienced Artist should apply.

Requirements

This open call is for students who have graduated or at least completed a few years of art school. But experience if more important to me that diplomas, I’m open to those without art degrees, if you have painting work experience and have high painting skills. Experienced or mature artists also welcome, but applicants should have enough free time to do several paintings a years, so do not apply if you are too busy doing your own artwork.

– Know how to paint oil on canvas and how to stretch canvas on stretcher bars. I’m looking for someone who paints thin, diluted style of painting with oils (mixed with a lot of turpentine and oil). The desired effect is NOT the thick, old-fashioned, dark or impasto style of oil painting. The style is lightly painted and semi-transparent and closer to watercolour in effect, so a knowledge of watercolour or water based techniques helpful.

– Good at reproducing/painting what they see. Good at mixing the correct colour, matching a color sample Good at painting the human body, hands, hair, faces, but especially the human body. Particularly someone who learned to paint by making copies (but also has a light artistic touch /flair)

– Can work large scale. Paintings one metre long and larger. But is also delicate enough to paint details and smaller paintings.

– Can read English fluently, or if not, French

Advantages

Make your own hours. Commissions for paintings will be a few times a year, so when you are finished you may have weeks or months off to do your own projects, vacation etc. Lots of free time.

NOTE: I have been working for several years with another woman from Vietnam, but her health is not good and she has to stop painting. She works from the images I send her. The painter I am looking for doesn’t have to invent anything, I send all the images and how to paint it. I know because I have already done the same painting myself and need to make a similar version at a different size or a pair of paintings for interior decoration commissions.

This is a good opportunity for a young artist just graduated from art school. I have a lot of work for the right candidate.

I am especially interested in any paintings you’ve done of the sea, the human figure, faces etc. Also anything that shows a light, semi-transparent effect, oils, and also watercolor. Paintings showing your use of blues, turquoises, greens and whites. Include both photos that show close up details, as well those that show the whole painting.

Photos can be of your own work, but if available please send copies that you have painted of other people’s paintings or photos. When you’ve done paintings based on photos, or other people’s paintings, please attach the original image it’s based on also.

If selected, I will commission you to do a sample painting for me to see if we can work together. I am looking for a painter with good skills that I can work with long term. It can be financially rewarding and you can make several thousand US dollars a year.

There is no deadline on this, but artists who apply sooner will be considered first.
