Attention Artists: WOLO Artist Residency in Malaysia

WOLO ARTIST RESIDENCY: Call for Applications

Located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the residency is a collaboration between the WOLO Bukit Bintang Hotel and the renowned art gallery, Wei-Ling Gallery. The objective of the residency is for international artists to live and work in the center of Kuala Lumpur for two months to realize a project that draws upon the identity of Malaysia. Selected artists will be invited to come to Kuala Lumpur to spend two months in the bustling city, whilst practicing their respective disciplines (paint, photography, video, light, sculpture, etc.). The WOLO Artist Residency accepts applications from artists who show a deep commitment to their work. The artist can practice in any discipline (paint, photography, video, light, sculpture) but the project should remain true to the artist’s body of work.

Applications should include the application form, a selection of 10 jpeg images from the past two years (including short write-ups about each piece), a statement of how this residency would benefit you personally and a proposal on the project you wish to pursue during your residency.

The program will be fully funded for two months and will include studio space, lodging in a modern boutique hotel in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, daily breakfast, monthly stipend, as well as return airfare for international artists (up to USD 900/EUR 600 per airfare).

The program will run throughout the year and applications will be accepted up to two months prior to the starting date. Date schedules for 2014/15 are as follows:
