The Book “City Tales” with Comic Artist Thanh Phong

So… what is it, City Tales?

Over the course of 12 months, comic artists from nine cities in Germany and South-East Asia create an ongoing story. The comics’ key protagonists are sent on a journey, experiencing a variety of situations in their respective urban environments.

All nine artists respond to the same set of monthly themes provided by Goethe-Institut. The stories’ twelve chapters are uploaded on a monthly basis into the blog platform “City Tales”.

Vietnamese comic illustrator Nguyen Thanh Phong (Phong Ronin) is one of the 8 artists from 8 different countries taking part in the City Tales Blog Project by Goethe-Institut. Thanh Phong is well-known for his comic book “Sát thủ đầu mưng mủ” (Killer with Pus-filled Head); he also hosted a popular exhibition and seminar at L’Espace in 2012 titled “Language of the Youth”.
