Heritage within heritage, the visitor becomes spectator, then actor. He is transported from architecture to landscape, from exterior to interior.

The General Inventory for Monuments and Artworks was created in France in 1962, with the unique utopic and ambitious spirit only Malraux could instill in his projects. The mission: to compile the inventory, to study and to share knowledge of national heritage.

Photography is a necessary artistic and scientific tool to make us witnesses of this heritage. Everything is perfectly framed, shot, captured in an instant… and forever.

Dans un décor ton sur ton, patrimoine sur patrimoine, le visiteur devient tour à tour spectateur puis acteur, déambulant d’architecture en grands paysages, d’extérieurs en objets d’intérieur. Avec cette part de rêve et d’utopie que seul Malraux savait insuffler à ses projets, l’Inventaire général des monuments et des richesses artistiques de la France créé en 1962 a pour mission de recenser, d’étudier et de faire connaître le patrimoine national. La photographie est l’outil indispensable, tant scientifique qu’artistique qui témoigne et tient vivant ce patrimoine. Tout y est soigneusement cadré, éclairé un instant… d’avant et pour longtemps.
