Its been a long time since German cinema has had such international attention, won so many prizes, since there has been so much German involvement in international productions. German cinema is once again a permanent guest in competitions at major film festivals.

In Germany Year 2010 the German Film Festival offers an opportunity to get to know German cinema better, and to get a glimpse of today’s Germany on the screen. To this end, we present a selection of German films which have impressed audiences far beyond the borders of Germany, in the Berlin Film Festival, at the Oscars, and in innumerable festivals and cinemas worldwide.
