The musikFabrik, established in 1990, is a leading ensemble for contemporary music and is particularly dedicated to musical innovation.

Their preferred field of work is with compositions which are new and unknown, require unusual media and are often specially commissioned by the group. This ensemble of soloists works closely together with the composers, and the results are presented both locally and internationally in approximately one hundred concerts per year. For the German Year 2010 the musikFabrik is working with the Vietnamese composer Tran Thi Kim Ngoc. The piece, specially composed for this occasion, will be performed in the Hanoi Opera House by the musikFabrik together with Kim Ngoc. Kim Ngoc’s work has been performed by numerous European orchestras. In addition she is known in Europe and America for her music theater compositions. The concert in Hanoi will also include other internationally important works of contemporary music by composers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen.
