Meg Stuart is considered one of the key figures in the international contemporary dance scene.

Maybe Forever
After training and then beginning her career in New York, she is now based in Europe and has worked since 2003 with the Schaubühne in Berlin. In her choreography she draws on the reservoir of everyday movements, and creates a completely new aesthetic of dance.
For Germany Year 2010 she brings her piece “Maybe Forever” to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. An atmospherically dense and moving work, “Maybe Forever” is accompanied live by Nicko Hafkenscheid’s guitar grooves. While he sings of love and loss the dancers Meg Stuart and Philipp Gehmacher encounter one another on stage. When love ends, there remains only the pain of memories and the wildly irrational wish to re-establish the intimacy and closeness of their relationship. Both artists are known for their critical examination of the alienated body: close enough to touch and yet so far from one another, they try to come together in an embrace.
