Opinion

Hanoi Grapevine is very fortunate to have a number of writers who are passionate about their subjects and are willing to offer their thoughts to our readers on a volunteer basis.

Your comments are welcome. Please see our Comment Guidelines / Moderation Policy.

The thoughts and opinions expressed in their pieces do not necessarily represent those of Hanoi Grapevine. Copyright on the text remains with the writer.

KVT – Not a reviewer, not a critic, “Kiếm Văn Tìm” is an interested, impartial and informed observer and connoisseur of the Hanoi art scene who offers highly opinionated remarks and is part of the long and venerable tradition of anonymous correspondents.
UYEN LY is a freelance journalist working on arts, culture and post war issues. She used to work for Tuoi Tre – the top newspaper in Vietnam. After Tuoi Tre, she became chief editor of international news for Vietnamnet – the first online news website in Vietnam. Then she decided to freelance so that she could work on any subject she likes. Every time she goes to an interesting art event, she is excited to share her feeling and thoughts with other people.
PHM has been with Hanoi Grapevine for some time, mainly involved in social media and occasional translation. As an enthusiastic music lover, now she wants to challenge herself in a new role – being a columnist writing about music and musicians for the site.
PAUL ZETTER is an accomplished jazz musician, knowledgeable fan and enthusiastic writer and reviewer. He also writes his own blog dedicated to reviews of jazz piano trios. Read more of his writing and listen to him perform some of his own original music on the piano.
MAI CHI is a Hanoi-based arts commentator and who contributes to various online media.
Hanoi Ink HANOI INK has never quite managed to give up his day job but is nonetheless a very active member of the music scene in Hanoi. His other obsessions are Vietnamese literature and old books, which he writes about at http://hanoiink.wordpress.com/.
