“A Great Symphony” Music Competition: Call for Entries
Deadline: 12 Mar 2017

From the open call:

The British Council in Italy is running an international music competition and we’d like to invite you to participate! Winner of the competition will be invited to play at the Club To Club music festival in Italy – one of the most appreciated avant-garde and pop music festivals in Europe.

A Great Symphony is a contemporary electronic opera which uses music to reflect a city’s rhythm and mood. Now in its 4th year, A Great Symphony for the northern Torino (Turin) city of Italy asked young, talented, musicians and artists on the Hyperdub label to create an exclusive soundtrack to the most iconic locations in the city. These musicians worked under the artistic direction of dj/producer Kode9, who added his own piece by combining elements of the other tracks.

All the tracks are freely accessible from the official website and the project’s Soundcloud page (https://soundcloud.com/agreatsymphony/).

To mark the next phase of the project, artists from around the world are invited to take part in a musical competition.

Joining is simple: download the stems that make up the A Great Symphony tracks and then create your own remix using the stems.

Then send an email to [email protected] with the subject “A Great Symphony For Turin remix”, your name (or moniker) and a link to download your track, which will then be uploaded on the project’s Soundcloud page.

The author of the best remix, as selected by Club To Club Festival‘s team, will be chosen to compose a track for the next edition of this project and invited to play at the festival (dates to be announced).

Deadline for submissions is 12th March 2017.
