From Hanoi Grapevine:

Come to the exhibition “Mot vong di” with artist Bui Quoc Khanh and Hanoi Grapevine. Let us take you around for an art tour and talk about each painting and the artist’s creative process. This is a fun and relaxing event that you can take the children to and help them develop critical thinking with art. A Sunday afternoon well-spent on art and discussion on society with the artist.

The artist will be at the exhibition lobby to welcome you. The tour will start at 4 pm.

The solo exhibition “Mot vong di” by young artist Bui Quoc Khanh includes 15 artworks inspired by current events – the exam score scandal in Ha Giang, the Mobifone-AVG acquisition deal, beauty surgery trends, selfies, environmental issues… Traditional cultural symbols are hilariously blended with modernity and the diversity of Western – Asian cultures in the paintings in a very lively, enticing manner, with images and characters overlapping each other, with small yet rich details that imply the artist’s intentions.

And as the paintings are so rich in details, it will be very interesting to have the artist himself tell the stories behind each element and character that, without attentive observation, would be easily missed.

For more details about the exhibition, see the previous post on Hanoi Grapevine.

Entrance fee: Any amount of donation is welcome. Free of charge for students and children, Toong co-working’s members and Hanoi Grapevine’s partners.

Language: Vietnamese. If you are a foreigner, kindly arrange a translator yourself.
