Film Critic on Newspapers

Film buff often spend time discussing about movies with each other. Some write down their comments, review and send to newspapers or magazines. Are those comments considered “movie reviews”, or should the term only be applied to professionals’ deep analyses of their aesthetic values? How do those writings affect movie viewers? How do they benefit the distribution and production of the movie? What are the strengths and weaknesses of writing movie reviews in Vietnam?

To have a better understanding about this subject, let’s listen to opinions from movie journalists and authors of many impressive movie reviews recently. Audience also has chance to raise their voices in the Movie Roundtable themed ‘Film Critic on Newspapers’.

With guests Mr. Doan Tuan – Script writer, vice editor-in-chief of Cinema World Magazine, Ms. Bich Hanh – Journalist from Culture column of Vietnamnet e- newspaper and a group of young writers: Hoang Trang Hai, Mai Anh Tuan, Dinh My Linh- collaborative writers of many newspapers with impressive movie critics.

The discussion is non-profit and for academic purpose.
