You are invited to the introduction of the book “The Italian travelers in the journey of Vietnam discovery” – a bilingual book in English Vietnamese and Italian. At the launch of this book there will be the presence of the author of the book: Ambassador Mario Sica and Professor Nguyen Qui Binh, Deputy Director of Department of International Studies – Hanoi University.

The book is the work of an Italian diplomat, Ambassador Mario Sica – who had the first diplomatic tenure in Vietnam, where he met a girl who taught him English Vietnamese and later became his wife. The book is a collection of notes, writings by Italian travelers who were in Vietnam a long time ago: from the time of Marco Polo to 1950, the missionaries, naturalists, geographers, writers, diplomats, etc. Their stories are not expected to contribute more than what the French, Portuguese, English American people have written, but it is a kaleidoscopic provides unique and interesting view about Vietnam. In addition, a country like Italy, with similar shape and historical features, can fully understand and express the soul and culture of Vietnam.
