Nha Chong Lu is a project under the Quy ho tro và Phat trien Cong dong Song Ben Vung – Quy Song (Sustainable Living Support and Development Fund – Living Fund for short) established under the Decision No. 2470/QD-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Living Fund is a social fund that aims to support people affected by natural disasters to lead a safe, stable life and to develop sustainable communities.
The two main activities of the Living Fund are Nha Chong Lu (Flood-Resistant House) and Hanh Phuc Xanh (Green Happiness). Up to now, Nha Chong Lu has provided financial and technical assistance to 700 safe houses in 11 project areas – estimated to help 3500 people be safe from disasters. Along with that, even though just been launched in 2018, Hanh Phuc Xanh has planted 15,000 trees in Quang Nam and Soc Trang, and more than 1,840 in Hanoi. In 2019, Hanh Phuc Xanh starts building two Hanh Phuc Xanh Parks in Ho Chi Minh City and Hoi An (Quang Nam). The program will continue to build Hanh Phuc Xanh Parks in urban areas, and begin to conduct restoration of natural forests in Kontum (Central Highlands) in 2020.
