TOTI D
The legendary Groove Nation the brainchild of Toti Dalmacion aka Toti D, started its journey in 1995. Groove Nation was the one responsible for bringing in foreign artists such as Juan Atkins, Stacey Pullen, Doc Martin, Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman, Space DJz, Christian Smith, Aphrodite, Swayzak, Silicone Soul, Josh Wink, Derrick May, Evil Eddie Richards, Terry Francis, Nathan Coles(the very people who coined the term “tech house” and started the sound) and a lot more…The underground innovators and progenitors. 1995 to 1998 was the entry point of the true, unadulterated, full on techno and house music, nothing commercial…Just pure underground. Parties that go on from 10pm until 8am, consisting of 3,000-4,000 people dancing their hearts out, all for the love of music.
Groove Nation is starting again from the ground up, re-building the community, focusing mainly on the music. Groove Nation consists of four DJs, Toti Dalmacion, Cyril Yarisantos, Benjie Lopez and Mario Serrano.
Groove Nation is starting again with Deep Fried, live on air every Wednesdays on Jam 88.3FM from 10pm-2am and its accompanying Deep Fried night at Saguijo and soon at Route 196 for a more intimate dance experience. Deep Fried is meant for “the true househeads, technofreaks, open- minded and adventurous folks.” It aims to educate people by promoting House and Techno and it’s offshoots like minimal/ tech/ deep House, in order to give the locals something different from what they’re usually accustomed to.
