Memories of Long Bien Bridge will be expressed through a variety of artistic mediums including paintings, photos, sculptures, music, film, and food. For 48 hours the bridge and its neighbourhoods will be exclusively pedestrian. People can stroll and explore the city’s history and arts. Hundreds of artistic works by Vietnamese and foreign artists will be on display.

Hanoi will celebrate its millennium on October 10, 2010. The Long Bien Festival of Arts will be the first cultural event that will kick off celebrations of the 1000 years of “Thang-Long-Hanoi” Millennium.

During the festival the bridge will link professional artists, amateurs, curators, art lovers, and the culturally curious to discover and enjoy Vietnam’s many art forms.

Promoted by Madame Nguyen Nga, director of the Maison des Arts Gallery, this festival will also celebrate the Year of the “Cultural Diplomacy” launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will commemorate the 55th anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation.
