Press Cafe cordially invites you to a film roundtable and screening of “Child, We are Sorry” (with English subtitle), written and directed by Phan Huyen Thu.
“Child, We are Sorry” tells the story of Mr. Tong Phuoc Phuc in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Phuc a poor builder, who works hard at his own humanitarian cause. He collects fetuses left in rubbish bins or other places along the roadside and has them properly buried – at least 9000 to date. He also helps and supports young women who become pregnant by mistake, to give birth to their children. He and his friends have brought up many young orphans. Film director Phan Huyen Thu said that this film acts as an apology to the human beings who did not have the chance to become living human beings.
