Press Cafe cordially invites you to the screening of Dao Thanh Tung’s documentary film “March death anniversary for Mothers”, followed by a discussion with the director himself. The film explores and explains one of Vietnam’s most intriguing, but usually banned religion – the Mother Goddess religion.
The film’s title comes directly from the Vietnamese saying “August death anniversary for Fathers; March death anniversary for Mothers”. The saying also acts as a reminder for the religion followers to pay their tributes to the gods at certain times of the year.
