Make sure you have this marked on your calendar!

The Embassy of Spain in Hanoi is bringing the Spanish theatre group Els Comediants to celebrate Hanoi’s birthday in spectacular fashion.

“Festival of Dragon”, created by Els Comediants‘ in cooperation with the Vietnam National Circus.

The Comediants have performed at major events all over the world.

Check their website for a little taste of what they have in store for Hanoi.

Our aim? To offer a “theatre of the senses”: a theatre of colours, scents and textures, yet also a provocative theatre. The provocation of a spirit of optimism in the face of certain current realities. The provocation of rediscovering everyday life despite the unstoppable wheels of time. And finally, the provocation of being committed to the present, of opening people’s eyes to help them see the world as a wonderful, immense home full of culture and friendship that we all need to care for before it is too late.

“Festival of Dragon” is part of the official program of celebrations of the Millennium of the City of Hanoi.

Free entrance!

And after being energised by this show, there is still plenty of time to get to L’Espace and dance at Tri Minh’s show!!

  1. I was very disappointed to learn that after driving the distance thru the heavy traffic that there was NO admittance to see this show – only dignitaries. Why advertise free entrance when there isn’t any entry. We were told we had to stand outside the gate to watch the fireworks only and the police were very rude also. Not a good representation of Hanoi hospitality.

    • Hi Mark
I agree completely. I don’t know when the decision was made to change it so that only VIPs with tickets could get into this show. I know that was not the original intention.
But Grapevine was not informed. I didn’t learn about this until last night at the gate as well.
      Very frustrating.
