About the film:
The film “Thieu phu Nam Xuong” by Director Tran Anh Hung was inspired by ancient work “Truyen Ky Man Luc” by Nguyen Du. This is his first short film made in 1987. The 20 minute film is known for its beautiful images.
About Director Tran Anh Hung:
Tran Anh Hung (born 1962) is a Vietnamese – French director known for his films about Vietnam and his implementation of contemporary style. He was influenced by the artistic trend and the descriptive style similar to that of director Yasujiro Ozu, Mikio Naruse, Kenji Mizoguchi, Bresson and Robert F. W. Murnau.
