8-hectare space of the Ho Tay Water Park is an excellent location for such activities as food tasting, discovering culture, shopping, and entertainment.
Ho Tay Water Park, Hanoi. Ha Thanh Cuisine Festival 2010 which is one of the official festivals of the 1000-Year anniversary Thăng Long- Hanoi is being put on by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hanoi.
The Festival is an event which contributes honor and value to the 1000-Year Thăng Long- Hanoi, advertises not only cultural value and Hanoi’s elite cuisine in particular, but also the district’s special cuisine culture and international friends.
The Festival will reproduce daily trading activities of people in old markets – a special culture in Vietnam. Đồng Xuân, Đống Đa, Bến Thành markets have been chosen as symbols representing markets from 3 regions in Vietnam: North, Central, and South.
In addition, the 8-hectare space of the Ho Tay Water Park is an excellent location for such activities as food tasting, discovering culture, shopping, and entertainment.
This event was researched and written up in both Vietnamese and English by Yên Thị Bùi, who is one of the children of the Blue Dragon, a non-governmental organization helping Vietnamese children in crisis lead productive successful lives. See http://www.bdcf.org/ to help. I need your help: If you know of any upcoming event for this column, please let me know. Hanoi Grapevine focuses mainly on contemporary art and culture in Vietnam, but we also post information about events that are part of Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage. |
What time does this start/finish?
According to my sources, the festival is from 9am weekdays and 8am weekends. It closes at 8pm every day.
@HanoiGrapevine twitter got one comment from a participant of this event @pikeletandpie:
“Yes, I went this morning. It was GREAT! Not too crowded, really friendly, loads of food. Lots of fun! I think I went at the right time, pretty sure it’d be packed a horrid right about now!” (“now” was 4.30pm)
So it is highly recommended that you should go to the event during day time to avoid the packed crowd in the evenings.
