For more information about Jean Babilée and ticket, see below:
Jean Babilée was known by his creation of “Le Jeune homme et la mort” (Young man and the death) based on summary of Jean Cocteau, music of Bach and choreography of Roland Petit.
In cinema, he played a part in the film “Pleins feux/regards sur l’assassin” (Focused look of murderer) with Georges Franju.
In theater, he wrote callouts for artist Arletty in “Descente d’Orphée” (The descent of Orphée) of Tennessee Williams (1959) and he was also a major dancer in “Reine verte” (Green Queen) in 1963, a perfect play of Maurice Béjart with combination of dance and theater.
In 1979 in New York, he created his own play “Life”, evocation of his life and it became a really big success.
It is a special memorization to a brilliant artist who regarded “dance is not a job but it is a life philosophy”, it is a philosophy which he also applied in other fields not only dance.
