From the Vietnamese Women’s Museum:
The exhibition of “Single Mothers’ Voices” was displayed at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum from March 7th to August 7th, 2011. It raised a lot of interest within the community because of the social relevance and the humanistic approach of the real life stories through the words of single women. The exhibition was displayed for five months at the museum, and on the morning, August 9th 2011 the Vietnamese Women’s Museum cooperated with the Tan Minh Party Committee and local authorities to lauch the exhibition of “Single Mothers’ Voices” in Tan Minh. Participants are both the single mothers and the people of Tan Minh Commune. Through the exhibition, the local people better understood the single mother’s hardships, thoughts, dreams and future plans.
This exhibition expresses the new approach of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in cooperation with the community to organize the display about their own community. It also reflects social issues and participation in realizing the goal of equality.
