The Embassy of Spain celebrates the National Day with the flamenco show “Poemas Flamencos” of Ballet Cristina Hoyos. Five dancers will perform the poems of the Spanish writer Federico García Lorca. Ballet Cristina Hoyos will perform on Wednesday 12th October 2011 at the Opera House of Hanoi and on Friday 14th October 2011 at the Opera House of Ho Chi Minh City. Both shows will begin at 20h.

“Poemas Flamencos” is a show exclusively prepared for Vietnam. Five dancers perform a fusion of the more successful Ballet Cristina Hoyos shows: Romancero Gitano, Viaje al Sur and Poema del Cante Jondo. Most songs are Spanish poems of Federico García Lorca.

Flamenco is a genre of music and dance which has its foundation in Andalusian music and dance. The “cante” (singing), “toque” (guitar playing), dance and “palmas” (handclaps) are the principal facets of flamenco. On November 2010, UNESCO declared Flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Tickets can be collected for free 1 week before the performance (while supplies last), seating is limited.
