From Bookworm:
Have you ever felt your writing—whether in poems, stories, blog posts, or letters home—did not convey the richness, color, and flavor of your experience?
In this hands-on workshop, American poet Scott Ezell will lead participants through exercises to help make their writing about travel—or day-to-day life in a foreign land—more resonant, compelling, and evocative.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have the rough draft of a new piece of writing. In Scott Ezell’s recent workshops in Beijing and Singapore, poems begun in the workshops were later published in literary journals.
Participants
Participants are not required to be native English speakers, but should have a fluent grasp of spoken and written English. Perfect grammar is not required, nor will grammar issues be addressed in the workshop.
You may register at the Bookworm, and the fee must be paid upon registration. If registration does not reach a minimum number, the workshop will be cancelled and fees will be refunded. Maximum 12 participants.
Cost
Early registration: 500,000 VND until December 3
Regular: 600,000 VND December 4 or later
Scott Ezell will also have a Poetry Reading from his books Petroglyph Americana and Songs from a Yahi Bow, as well as from his poem-cycle “Hanoi Rhapsodies,” on December 8 at the Bookworm.
The Bookworm is the best little book cafe in southeast Asia and the coolest place to browse.
