“Nothing new under the sun ” – the favourite quotation from Italian writer, philosopher Umberto Eco – taken by Vu Duc Trung (1981) as the title for his private exhibition. No over ambitious changing about consciousness, Trung desires via his artworks, to show his own “eyeing” to life, from any circumstances there still be though subtle belief and hope about the awareness of the youth – a youth generation.

Successful in abstract-expressionism with lacquer, won first prize in Jeune Regard Award (sponsored by French embassy and L’espace Hanoi in 2005) and with acrylic the artist has so far differentiated his style. Saying contemporary Pop Art language, the artist taken himself as folded sitting poses in his artworks. The nonsense from sitting sleeping poses with formal suits in a romantic spaces, creates an opposite in mind, being pessimistic, exhausted. All reflects the dispirited, stubborn, repeated minds that can be easily caught in modern society, partially in the youth.
