As part of their ‘Far East Far Out Tour’, Devil Music Ensemble members B-Woo and Berbere Superstar hit Hanoi for two ear tickling nights of electronic funk beat music, on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th April at HRC.
Berbere Superstar’s affectionate, stirring sound is crafted with live electric violin over electronic dance beats, traditional african samples, handheld recordings and more.
B Woo’s solo project, meanwhile, is composed of droned out processed ambient lapsteel guitar sounds, ending up with something like “Brian Eno and Robert Fripp but sometimes more evil sounding.”
Emerging local DJs/artists will also add flavours of trip-hop, improv and hip-hop to the two nights.
Thursday show: live music commences from 8PM
Friday show: live music commences immediately after UK producer Tim Exile open free workshop, approx. 9PM.
Free entry.
