KVT – Little Gems in Ngo Quyen
Nguyen Huu Thai has three very fluid and tactile pieces in black stone in the exhibition. All are small and the one to die for is the smallest. Called ‘People Moving’, like the others, it makes you want to stroke and caress its beautiful wavy contours. Price please!
Do Chi Quan’s ‘Void’ is a lovely take on a well used theme. Its Giacometti reference is pretty nice too, It could be a delicate paean to first and tentative love. Quite refreshing amidst other blocky pieces!
For some reason I was continually drawn back to Thai Nhat Minh’s flock of birds. A very poetic installation and I could imagine a whole room of them suspended in gray flight. The metal relief diptych lizard by the same artist is also nice and somehow is just saved from being too predictable or twee.
