In the last six years, Vietnamese LGBT (Lesbian – Gay – Bisexual – Transgender) community has transformed itself from a dispersed and hidden community to a proud and united one. The increasing tolerance have encouraged LGBT people to come out and live true to themselves. Many have joined hands to fight against stigma and discrimination, advocated for policy changes, and provided support for others in time of difficulties. Recognizing this reality and the needs of LGBT, the government is considering to amend the Law on Marriage and Families to have legal recognition on same sex cohabitation. This May, law makers will vote on the bill.
This event is open to the public. To attend, please register online via the link or send an email to Mr. Dong Quang Hai at [email protected] before 25th April 2014 for logistic purposes.
