From Uni-Italia Vietnam and Embassy of Italy:

In the framework of the Program “Y-Viet 2014”, the Embassy of Italy is delighted to announce the concert by “Mezzotono, Small Orchestra without Instruments” due to be held at “Casa Italia” on the 16th of June at 8 p.m.

“Mezzotono, Small Italian Orchestra without Instruments” is composed of five young Italian artists who perform just with their voices, with no use of musical instruments. The peculiar feature of this technique, so called “a cappella”, implies that the human voices reproduce the different instruments, according to the special kind of approach of the five interpreters.

The unique atmosphere encourages audience to actively participate to the show, becoming part of the Orchestra itself.

The Orchestra proposes a rich repertoire which offers a journey through a variety of different styles. Spanning from jazz to bossanova, along mambo, tango, big-band style and classic music, all the songs are performed in an original interpretation by virtue of the arrangements and the unpredictable contribution of the rhythmic-vocal section.

“Mezzotono” has been presenting its music in several Italian and foreign theaters and the artists have been holding seminars and master classes in Universities all around the world focused on the “a cappella” musical technique.

In October of 2008 the group was selected as one of the ten best in Italy and was invited to the realization of a CD “A-Cappella Made in Italy”.

Some famous Italian songs which will be performed in Hanoi’s concert include: “Quando quando quando” (by Tony Renis), “Un uomo in frack” (by Domenico Modugno) and “Buonasera Signorina” (by Fred Buscaglione).

This is a closed concert on invitation only.
