Strengthening Cultural Exchange in Asia by Japan Foundation: Call for Applications

The Japan Foundation Asia Center connects　people of Asia, expands networks, and co-creates Asian cultures with the goal of fostering awareness of empathy and coexistence amongst the residents of Asia through such concepts as “Communicate”, “Connect and Share”, “Collaborate”, “Create”. To that end, it implements projects in diverse areas such as arts and culture, sports, Japanese-language education and academic exchange.

“Strengthening Cultural Exchange in Asia” offers grants and sponsorship for 4 different programs, including:

1 “NIHONGO Partners” Program: For Japanese individuals only.
2 Grant Program for Enhancing People-to-People Exchange: For Japanese organizations only.
3 Grant Program for Promotion of Cultural Collaboration: For organizations in 10 ASEAN countries.
4 The Asia Center Fellowship Program: For individuals who are nationals of / permanent residents in Japan or 10 ASEAN countries.

The grants and fellowships cover expenses including travel and accommodation, loan of venue, equipment hire, and interpretation and translation costs (for projects) and international airfares, living and activity expenses and overseas travel insurance (for individuals).
