Artists in Residency in Muong AIR in November 2015

From the organizer:
Muong AIR Program provides facilities and opportunities for the professional development of artists from different art fields. As part of Muong’s Cultural Museum, Muong Studio organizes Muong Air Program.
In November 2015, we would like to welcome the three artists Asherah Cinnamon, Lê Thị Hiền, Vương Lê Mỹ Học and a Experimenting Workshop of the ECOart project.
Asherah Cinnamon is a contemporary sculptor, installation, and performance artist, who makes her home in a forest in the northeastern United States. She has had a long love affair with trees, and uses her own cultural traditions as a platform from which to begin each new project. Her work incorporates decades of activism for the rights of women and minorities. She will show examples of her projects and discuss her process for creating spaces to connect people with each other and the earth. Her sculpture can be seen currently in group exhibitions in New York and London.
Le Thi Hien is a sculptor based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Her compositions seem to exploitate the subtle sense and the particular shape of different materials. The concept explores an artistic language that contains high self-expression and a strong connection with the space surrounding. She has attended many events for “art in public space” in Belgium, France, the US, as well as Vietnam. During the time in Muong Studio, Le Thi Hien will present her recent works of art made from the natural stones – small-scale Land Art installation.
Living and working in Hanoi, Vietnam, Vuong Le My Hoc has nourished her art from the feminine sense. She makes art naturally and gently like playing a game, ingenious and exquisite. The painting was the first step to lead My Hoc approaching a morphological feature of installation, which will be presented at Muong Studio.
Also, a workshop of Eco Art will take place at Muong Studio in November. The workshop is held by ACCViet together with a group of artists from Vietnam and others countries. At the time, a method of working with the ecological art will be discussed: materials, techniques, process and how it will affect our society, how to collaborate with other creative fields. Duration of the workshop: 10 days, from 20th to 29th November 2015.
“Open Studio”, workshops are held on Saturdays from 9.00 – 11.00AM. For those who want to participate please send email to: [email protected].
