Tet gets into gear @ the Galleria

The Hang Da Galeria has given a whole floor to artists to show off their stuff and the organizer of the whole shebang has co-opted a number of artists and artisans to hang their work amidst spaces that sell furniture and housewares – and it works nicely .

In any show like this the quality of work is variable and ranges from the very good down to the downright ugly

I spent an hour wandering the place and at the end decided on my two favorites

I really appreciated the blue and white ceramic plates, bowls and vases by Do Dung and wouldn’t mind a few of the plates. They are scattered over a couple of spaces- with a selection below- and most will find them fetching

After a few rotations and head spins I decided that my favorite paintings were a triptych of largish canvasses by Vu Thang Nghi which were a whirl and a swirl of color and movement and depicted the anticipation of Tet, and village Tet Festivals (to which I’m addicted) to my delight and satisfaction.

The event is up until Feb 5 and on those BRRRRRRRR cold days that are to come – without which Tet just wouldn’t be right and proper- a trip to the Galeria could warm you up
