From the organizer:

Let’s explore Modern Jazz with French dancer Dede Guardiola.

Participants: Artists, dancers, students and everyone who are interested in creative movements and contemporary dance.

Jazz dance was the first street dance ever known. Dancers used to learn ballet or folkloric traditional dances. But dancers are artists, dance is creation, and these artists need to express themselves with their bodies, by the movement, feeling the music.

Modern jazz is just its evolution, using ballet techniques and contemporary music.

For this workshop, we will explore how to express ourselves; how to move in a breath, feel the music, follow a choreography, use the precision of technique, and enjoy creating altogether!

Born in Alsace, France, Dede discovered her passion for dancing at the age of 7 years old with Amanda Gary and Christelle Pinet. Dede started dancing by learning modern jazz, but she has been curious to discover new ways how to move and express with her body. She has tried everything she can: Ballet, belly dance, African dance, Afro jazz, claquettes, hip hop… At the age of 15 years old, she joined the Dream Dance company, hip hop choreographic, with which she won several times the title of French championship. At the age of 18, Dede left Alsace to go to study fashion design in Paris. She joined Rick Odums dance school for few years and later on, Mickaël Billioniere with who she danced hip hop before moving to Vietnam.
