From L’Espace:

You are invited to the conference “Memoirs of an Ambassador in Vietnam” by Claude Blanchemaison on the occasion of publishing his book in Vietnamese by the National Policies Publishing house.

Speakers:
– Mr. Claude Blanchemaison, Ambassador of France in Vietnam (1989-1993)
– Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Hanoi

Claude Blanchemaison lived during an extraordinary period in the history of Vietnam (the open-door period) and Franco-Vietnamese relations (the return of France) with the implementation of structuring programs for Vietnam (bilingual classes) and restart of a political relationship. His book vividly reconstructs the context of that time and will provide Vietnamese readers the chance to rediscover the history of Vietnam from a new perspective, that of a great diplomat from France, which plays a decisive role in the development of relations between France and Vietnam.
