From the organizer:

An anonymous figure is alone in an extraterrestrial landscape. She could be any of us. We don’t know how she got here, and we don’t know why. But we do know that she does not belong. In an environment where many would be afraid, she stands tall, and moves gracefully. She is alone, but at peace with herself.

“As expatriate, I am a far cry from home. The world I have chosen to live in sometimes feels like a foreign planet. It does not always welcome me, and it is not always easy. I can choose to struggle through, to let it harden me, to make me bitter. Or I can throw myself into it, embrace it, and be comfortable with the unknown. I can turn my struggles into a bliss. When I feel lost, I can let go.” – JuLie Vola
