DJ Brezel Göring at Monsoon Music Festival 2016

Berlin DJ Brezel Göring is playing at the opening night of the Monsoon Music Festival 2016.

Weird sounds made with analogue synthesizers and audiotape loops, experimental merging of different music genres, the annulment of sound conformity: this is how you could best describe the music produced by Brezel Göring. This year he will play at the opening night of the Monsoon Music Festival on 21.10.2016, 10 PM in Hanoi.

Another act from Germany and headliner of the three-day festival is the legendary rock band SCORPIONS. The festival features a variety of genres ranging from Pop, Rock, Soul, R&B, Jazz and EDM which will be performed by national and international artists from Great Britain, the US, Denmark, France, Sweden, Japan, Korea and South Africa. The famous celebrities My Linh and Tung Duong will represent the host country Vietnam.

Brezel Göring started playing in a number of bands as a teenager and gained experience with both playing and producing music from early on, but the biggest milestone in his development was in 1992­: In this year he met the French Françoise Cactus and together they founded the duo “Stereo Total” – in this constellation they have recorded 37 albums until now and have been touring around the globe. Their musical expression strives for imperfection: They only sing in languages that are not English, they are playing with instruments that other people threw away and such which cost them less than 25€, they flee from virtuosity and avoid to conform to contemporary mainstream music tastes.

Without any doubt, Brezel Göring is influenced by his Stereo Total experiences even when he is working in his solo projects which are similarly to be located far from standard sounds. He has also produced theater music, audio books and film music for Japanese and Filipino movies.

Since 2007 Göring is involved in a concert series together with the Elpibolis “Baroque Orchestra” from Hamburg, the series is called “Barock Lounge”, in which baroque and electronic music merge into one another. This project was invited by the Goethe-Institut Vietnam and will play a concert in the big concert hall in the Vietnam National Academy of Music on 20.10.2016 at 8 PM.
