From Goethe Institut:

“Variations of the Rain Barrels” by German poet Jan Wagner, including 57 poems, has won in the category “belles lettres” at the Leipzig Book Fair 2015. This was the first time that this prize was given to a poetry collection. On the occasion of the European Literature Days 2017, we shall present 23 poems from this collection, rendered in a particularly mesmerizing Vietnamese translation.

“The beauty of a rain-water barrel is that one truly believes that it gives off none of such beauty. Or one disregards it: the rain-water barrel is yet another one of those objects that one pass by everyday, that sit in a dark corner, that one no longer notices. Yet, it is precisely thanks to these objects that poetry could take shape.” J. Wagner
