This is an event within the framework of the festival “Europe meets Asia in Contemporary Dance” 2017.
Interweaving dance, music and visual arts, Urban Distortions gives a poetic vision of the territory, questioning its physical or mental borders.
What is a living space and how is it shared?
How do we welcome foreigners and cultural differences?
Dancers and musicians coexist with transparent oxygenated bubbles such as excrescences of the contemporary city where we are often more and more enclosed. Music and choreography, between animality and urbanity, collide on questions of interculturality in the face of the utopia of a shared world.
This unprecedented version, first in Vietnam, is the result of the collaboration between the French-Belgian dance company t.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e with the Vietnamese rap star SUBOI who will be exceptionally on stage in Ho Chi Minh City.
T.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e was born in 2003 in Hong-Kong of the encounter between the visual artist Pierre Larauza and the choreographer Emmanuelle Vincent, wishing to cross the dance, architecture and cinema in choreographic pieces and films. The French binomial, installed in Brussels, have their creations broadcast internationally.
