Contact Improvisation (CI) is a movement practice among pairs or groups in which points of physical contact provide the starting point for exploration through movement improvisation. Conceived and developed by the American dancer and choreographer Steve Paxton in the 1970s, CI is now practiced worldwide and becomes a signature post-modern dance form.
The workshop introduces the fundamental concepts of CI such as contact point, releasing, weight sharing through floorwork exercises and improvisation while cultivating the mindful egalitarian attitude for CI practice.
