Vietnamese Women’s Museum

The exhibition “Mother and Nature” showcases paintings about women in natural settings by artist Van Duong Thanh, which were created with a combination of Vietnamese and Western techniques. This is the first time these artworks are displayed at the Vietnam Women’s Museum.
The collection comprises 35 artworks, the oldest was painted in 1977 and the newest on the 2017 lunar New Year’s Eve. Most of them have been displayed in exhibitions at numerous museums and art galleries around the world; they are a testament to the artist’s hard work and creativity during the past 40 years.
Regarded as an established artist in Vietnam and abroad, Van Duong Thanh has received numerous prestigious awards and has had 80 exhibitions around the world. Her art helps to build bridges between cultures and countries – for which she is called an “ambassador for Vietnamese culture”.
A workshop on exchanging experience between the artist and researchers, young painters, art students will take place in conjunction with the exhibition. Please register at:
