Hello everyone, thank you for your interest in this event which is happening quite suddenly.

I am Kieu Anh, who (almost) finish university to become an interpreter, a translator, translating from one language to another. One day (or after a series of many days), I’m tired of words, so I decided to do a demo / experimental / interactive series called ‘Translation’, in the idea of visualizing things that could not be visually understood.

‘Translation 1’ is in form of a more familiar “language” to me, which is scents and colors (and also the name of the first subject in the translation series). Nearly a month ago, I experimented with a Pilot Unit. With support from some friends, on December 28, I will perform Unit 1: Vietnamese Literature and Unit 2: Cigarettes. By the way, on that day, cigarettes are free, it’s on me.

Between the 2 units, I would like to invite you to play with me for a bit. ‘I scream against the current’ is an activity where you can draw as you like according toward your perception toward the ‘recipe’ on the table (art supply provided by me).

About the name of ‘Đi dịch gấp’ (‘Urgent translation jobs’), it is about how, with this job, you can get many Asap Rocky type of calls, a.k.a. ‘unforewarned deaths’. In this ‘Translation’ session, I searched high and low for a hosting venue, and luckily, in the morning 24 hours before this event, I met Minh of Quan Cam, who, within 5 minutes, gave me the green light so that on 28/12/2018 at 4pm, I can go translate scents to colors hehehehehe.
