The “Appreciating Art through Writing” Workshop helps you to open up and build up, step-by-step, your confidence in expressing personal feelings and insights about art, and potentially about anything in life in coherent yet inspiring manners.
The workshop is dedicated to every art and culture enthusiasts who wishes to express and share experiences in art and culture by means of written language. At the workshop, you will have the opportunities to practice your confidence in exchanging and sharing your feelings and thoughts; your ability to focus and observe your outer world and your inner world; using appropriate form and structure for your writing; and choosing the right words, avoiding rambling and cliché.

– Suggested interview guide to help you open up a conversation with interviewees
– Suggested form & structure for your writings ready to apply in your writings
– And, cool peeps to make friends and hang out with

Workshop fee:
200,000VND/person (maximum number of participants: 25)

* The workshop is an activity constructed by PAN – a Proactive Audience Network initiated by Hanoi Grapevine. Hanoi Grapevine is a bi-lingual online platform providing up-to-date information and reviews of the Vietnam’s art scene.
Information about the instructor – Uyen Ly:
Truong Uyen Ly, Journalist, Director of Hanoi Grapevine – a bi-lingual English and Vietnamese website and social network on contemporary art and culture events. From 2001 to 2009, Ly worked as reporter for Tuoi Tre, covering art and and culture activities. Ly also stayed in the jury board for Denmark – Vietnam Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (2008 – 2013). Since 2014, Ly has been a pioneer researcher on cultural and creative hubs in Vietnam.
** By taking part in this workshop participants will agree to have their photographs taken and opinions recorded for archives. The workshop’s organizer and The Factory are entitled to using those photographs and opinions for not-for-profit purposes (using them as materials for archives, press stories and promotional activities…)
