You are invited to the installation exhibition “Turning into Butterflies” of Korean artist Ahn Yun Mo.

“Turning into Butterflies” is made up of installation works created with approximately 1,300 paper butterflies of nearly 1,300 children and young people including those with disabilities around the world – from South Korea, the US, to Africa, Indonesia, Europe; about 100 artworks of disabled and autistic students from Binh Minh Special School (Vietnam); and nearly 20 artworks by Ahn Yun Mo and 5 South Korean artists with disabilities.

The exhibition is part of the project “Turning into Butterflies” initiated worldwide since 2013 by South Korean artist Ahn Yun Mo with disabled children and young people. This is an international project organized by South Korea is not only an opportunity for the whole world to see the authenticity of South Korean art, but also a warm message of hope, a huge installation exhibition with the participation of hundreds of thousands, of millions of disabled children worldwide. Through the project, Ahn Yun Mo hopes that we – people who live in this world, can overcome all barriers of skin colors and languages, break the gap between people with disabilities and those without, creating a new progress in promoting the fundamental role of art of bringing people closer together. Ahn Yun Mo’s international project “Turning into Butterflies” was held at UN headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), New York Museum of Modern Art (USA), and many other museums, exhibition spaces, famous places in major cities & countries such as Brussels (Belgium), Bali, Jakarta (Indonesia), South Korea, Ethiopia, Thailand, Beijing (China), Nairobi (Kenya), Paris (France), etc.

Ahn Yun Mo graduated with a Bachelor degree from Hongik University and a Master’s of Fine Arts from City University of New York. He has had 78 solo exhibitions (in Europe, America, etc.) and 80 times organizing projects with the participation of disabled and autistic children, attended various art fairs in his home country and abroad, and joined 1350 group exhibitions (Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, New Zealand, Miami, etc.)
