MAY Exhibition – organized by Noirfoto, presenting 03 collections of artworks of diverse techniques and materials. Through this exhibition, Noirfoto hopes to introduce new values to the photography lovers and affirm the aesthetic value of analog photography in the digital photography era.
100 years ago, the legendary photographer Alfred Stieglitz pointed his lens to the sky to capture a series of images that showed the states and movements of clouds, which was mostly considered an ordinary subject. However, it was the first set of photographs that explored and expressed the abstraction of photography, bringing a challenge to traditional art, since photographic medium was being used only to reproduce reality (and thus, have not been considered “art”). Stieglitz declared: “I know exactly what I have photographed. I know I have done something that has never been done. I also know that there is more of the real abstract in some ‘representations’ than in most of the dead representations of the so-called abstract so fashionable now”. With that powerful statement and the abstraction of his clouds series, photography has affirmed itself to be art, in every sense of the word.
As an art form, photography doesn’t focus on a specific subject but more on the expression of a feeling or an idea. The shadow of flowers in the summer sun, or the quiet ancient temple gate; the distant coastline, the gentle grace of blue on silk, or the light sparkling on water are all able to tell their own stories.
With three collections: Silver Lining, Eternal Flow, and Light of Illusion, Noirfoto walks the viewers through different moments of encounters between humans and nature that show both harmony and contrast, for them to be fully immersed in the moments.

Noirfoto has organized many exhibitions for artists and photographers, and partnered with others to build different programs to encourage the creation and appreciation of art photography.
