About the artists: Born in 1988 in Lâm Đồng Province (Vietnam), Phạm Đình Tiến graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Art in 2012. He is currently a lecturer at this same Department. He is most known for his works showing distorted bodies, the tension of the muscles, feelings of solitude that exude from metals. He has participated and has received awards in the Young Biennale HCMC; DOGMA’s ‘Portraiture’ Art Prize and the annual exhibitions organized by the Ho Chi Minh Association of Fine Art.
Remarkable activities/projects in 2020 – 2022: In 2022, Phạm Đình Tiến had a solo exhibition titled “Wandering Age” (Craig Thomas Gallery, HCMC) and joined multiple group exhibitions, including Foliage IV and In-between (VCCA, Hanoi), the “Midpoint” sculpture exhibition organized by VCCA and VinWonders Nam Hoi An, the 7th Hanoi – Saigon Sculpture Exhibition (HCMC Fine Arts Association) and Tết Art 2023 (Hanoi Studio Gallery).
HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST is an annual event that honors contemporary art projects in Vietnam. The event is organized and nominated by Hanoi Grapevine and the general audience.
The event aims to honor individuals, organizations, creative art projects & activities as well as artists who are 35 or younger who have made impacts on the community in order to encourage the development of local creative arts, to promote greater communication and to further spread the influence of art and culture in the community.
In an effort to give the most comprehensive and objective view, HANOI GRAPEVINE’s FINEST always offers different formats in each edition. This year, Hanoi Grapevine’s Finest 2023 is divided into two major categories: Honouring and Recognition.
