Hanoi, with its position as the country’s center for more than a millennium, is a collection of diverse material traces, in which architectural works create a heritage block that makes up the attractive appearance of the city. In particular, the works on the Ly Thai To – Le Thanh Tong – Trang Tien street axis have the meaning of laying the foundation for a modern Hanoi, spanning from the end of the 19th century to the second half of the 20th century. “Stubborn with time” – until now, what role do these architectural heritages play in contemporary development and also reflect the response to the identity of Hanoi? With the idea of “Bringing vitality to architectural heritage in the contemporary flow”, the seminar focused on analyzing practical experiences in bringing cultural heritage into creative activities, becoming creative spaces, cultural addresses attracting people and tourists such as 22 Hang Buom, Nam Huong communal house, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, Complex 1, Top 10 Awards Pavillon at Dien Hong Flower Garden… In addition, the seminar also discussed with the authors of the pavilions – architectural heritage routes – to provide creative perspectives, along with the opinions of managers to find solutions to revitalize architectural heritage and bring cultural heritage to make more positive contributions to the process of building and developing the creative city of Hanoi.

The architectural seminar “Architectural Heritage in Creative City” organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Architecture Magazine – Vietnam Association of Architects with the participation of many managers, experts, creative practitioners and international experts… is expected to find new mechanisms and directions for the development of Hanoi Creative City – a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, contributing to the socio-economic development of the capital.
