From the organizer:
Like a whisper of the seasons, the wind arrives, carrying with it a gentle yet eternal presence. It hums the symphony of nature, weaving through canopies, gliding over ancient rooftops, and softly caressing the quiet streets. The wind has no form, no voice, yet with each changing season, it awakens silent aspirations for a fresh start—a season brimming with hope.
It is from this sentiment that the exhibition “Sắc Gió” by artist Nguyễn Minh in collaboration with Mani was inaugurated during the transition into the Year of the Snake. The exhibition carries both a sense of familiarity and a refreshing newness. In Nguyễn Minh’s works, the twelve zodiac animals come alive, vividly depicted with the rustic charm of folk art yet adorned with the vibrant hues of modernity. Viewers are transported to serene street corners, tender vases of flowers by open windows, and glimpses of tranquil life—all reflections of the artist’s quiet contemplation of time’s flow, gentle yet profoundly stirring.
For Nguyễn Minh, the Year of the Snake is not tinged with nostalgic melancholy but instead radiates bright colors of optimism for the year ahead. Each brushstroke, each shade, is a gentle yet powerful encouragement, evoking within us a quiet hope amidst the relentless movement of time.
“Sắc Gió” set against the backdrop of spring’s renewal, feels like a soft breeze that lingers just long enough to touch the heart. Each painting in the exhibition reminds us that transformation is not bound by the passing of days but lies in how we open ourselves to embrace and cherish each fleeting moment. Through Nguyễn Minh’s strokes and colors, the wind becomes more than a sensation—it is a journey, an emotion, a soul intertwined with the unassuming beauty of life.
